In 1875 half an acre of property, which was encircled by a line of mature Maple trees, was donated by Robert Harding for the school house. To this day these old trees, now over 130 years old, still stand. In 1912, Reuben Harding donated the hill area behind the school house which provided the children with years of sledding fun. As well, in 1912, John Strong donated 1.25 acres to the school house which provided an area for the baseball field. This completed the 2.44 acres of property associated with the Harding SS#6 Schoolhouse.
There have been 3 owners of the School House since 1963, when the one room school houses in Ontario were sold at auction. The current owners are restoring the School House to its original glory.
